Hello Everyone! Today’s post is a little different, in fact, it is actually a re-post from the sweetheart of the blogging world – Karen over at Confetti and Curves. A few months ago I contacted Karen to take part in her weekly feature where she show cases smaller blogs from around the world through a fun little interview to get to know the person behind the space. She’s been really supportive towards me when I started blogging, so I was thrilled when she agreed to have a chat with me on her virtual couch. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Karen for her hospitality and for being an inspiration to the baby bloggers out there who are following her lead in carving a little space of their own. Keep reading to see how the interview went, and do give Karen a visit by following the link below…

WHAT A WEEK! I’m at the point where I truly have no concept as to whether I’m coming or going. Don’t get me wrong, it hasn’t been one of those insufferable weeks… you know the type where you simply just want to crawl under a rock and hibernate for two decades… however it has been utterly mind melting with all work and no play *sob* I’m genuinely not too sure if it’s a sign of premature aging but I’m literally mentally withering away under a buckling ‘to do’ list that never seems to go down. In fact it’s quite the opposite, the more I do the more seems to appear on that very same list! Last night however was the first I actually got to spend sometime to myself – locked in the confines of my bedroom colouring my hair and browsing over what skin mask to smear across my tired & weary face. Needless to say it was amazing – regardless of the constant frickin issues uploading to YouTube *dramatic eye roll* Talking of which have you entered the Giveaway yet?!?! If not *CLICK HERE* to check out yesterday’s post so you don’t miss the opportunity to win a whopping £71 of Billion Dollar Brow goodies 😀
However onto today’s feature as once again it’s time to meet yet another inspiring blogger. Today we have the truly lovely Nihaad on the virtual sofa, however since interviewing Nihaad for her blog The Little Blog of Stuff she has launched a brand new online haven called Read & Seek! I’ve linked both for y’all to check out as I’m pretty sure you’ll adore her new blog every bit as much as her previous one – particularly if you’re a little book worm who loves nothing more than cuddling up with a great read!
So enough chatter from me,grab your favourite cup and get comfy as we take a peek Behind The Blog with the lovely Nihaad…
In only 5 words describe what readers can expect from your blog:
A space for random ramblings
.
What inspired you to start blogging?
I needed a space to express creativity, something that would keep me committed. I have been following different blogs for years but for some reason never really thought I could have my own. And then I came across different blog posts that gave advice on how to start a blog, and I realised it would not only be a great way for me to express myself, but it would also be a way for me to brush up on my computer skills.
.
Do you ever suffer from Blogger’s Block & if so how do you overcome it?
All the time!! I overcome it by looking through old pictures I’ve taken, reading old posts I have written; or read some of my favourite blogs on Bloglovin’.
.
What’s your favourite post to date?
My favourite post would have to be “50 things that makes me happy” because it was such a fun post to write. I got to reflect on all the things in my life that I am grateful for and I read it all the time when I am feeling uninspired.

My everyday style is formal casual since I work in an office. I normally wear a long skirt, pumps and a cute top.
.
What are your current top 3 beauty items?

Rimmel Scandaleyes gel eyeliner
.
How do you like to relax & unwind after a stressful day?
To unwind I love to snuggle up in bed with the husband watching old reruns of Friends.
.
Describe your ideal Saturday night:
I know it sounds like all I do is watch TV, but my ideal Saturday night would be to watch a good action/ sci-fi movie with the husband.
.
What do you do to relax?
To relax I read and drink tea.
.
Everyone has their bad habits, what’s yours?
Biting the inside of my cheek when I am stressed.
.
What’s your most cherished childhood memory?
When we (my parents and younger brother) would drive to my grandparents who lived outside of Cape Town, and we would listen to these old songs that my Dad had on tape. It would be a mix of the Bee-Gees, Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley and Engelbert Humperdinck. Those songs are so special to me even now after all these years.
.
What was your favourite school subject?
Science – I am a nerd!
.
What’s your dream job?
I am not sure yet, to be completely honest I don’t like the idea of having a job. It bothers me that my time should be dedicated to a company for 8 – 9 hours a day and that I cannot do what I want. So I guess my “dream job” would be something that I get to decide what I do with my time and WHEN I want to do something.
.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years I hope to be well travelled and I really hope to have (at least) started a family.
.
What top 5 things are on your bucket list?
Bungee Jumping
Sky-diving
Shark cage diving
Travel with no destination
Swim with dolphins
.
What’s your biggest achievement to date?
Besides being married, graduating in civil engineering
.
Who inspires you?
My husband!! He tells me every single day that I am his hero, how can I not be inspired to at least attempt to live up to that?
.
Do you have a favourite inspirational quote?
“As I look back on my life, I realize that every time I thought I was being rejected from something good I was actually being redirected to something better.” – Steve Maraboli
.
What top tips would you give to someone who is thinking of starting their own blog?
Just do it! Choose a platform and dive in head first.
Always stay true to your reasons for starting to blog. Even if they change over time, try to remember what drove you to start in the first place.
Don’t worry about what other people say, just do what makes you happy.
